Volkswagen AG: Europcar Sale to Eurazeo Completed on June 1

Wolfsburg, 01 June 2006 - Volkswagen AG completed the sale process of its former wholly-owned subsidiary Europcar with effect from May 31, 2006. The Eurazeo investment group will take over Europcar S.A. registered in Paris from June 1, 2006.
The cartel authorities in Germany, France and Italy had previously given the sale the go-ahead. The gross sum for Volkswagen AG from the deal totals more than three billion euros. Once net debt has been deducted, the sale price amounts to 1.26 billion euros. Volkswagen AG took over all the shares in Europcar International S.A. registered in Paris in 1999.
